I think your idea of using one of these remote firing stations could be coupled with a fairly simple and somehow available weapon: an automatic shotgun.<br /><br />Instead of a normal machine gun, couple a Saiga-style automatic shotgun and increase the chances of bringing down the drone with heavy buckshot. One of these stations, with enough ammo, could send a wall of buckshot directly to the threat.
