  1. Only sex and porn can cause such an increase of visits, therefore, my best guesses are:

    a) you have updated the hidden porn section of your site, which is only accessible for paying subscibers. (I do of course not pay :-))

    b) your catapult headline implies an interesting sexual technique (which I do of course not know :-))

    1. I actually once found a robot-generated blog mixing a ripped blog post of mine with a review for a porn flic, but it didn't cause this or any other spike.

      This one was essentially about gun porn. The popular Firearms Blog had linked to my blog post without citing much, its viewers had to create a page view here to see most of the content:

Use a nickname and stick to it! I may block anonymous comments. Offensive comments may also be blocked, in part due to the duties of a blogger in Germany.
