  1. China has a lot of factors pushing for it -- slave labor, complicit foreign plutocrats, etc.

    I'll have to look into the numbers further before taking a usefully detailed position, though.

  2. Slave labour is mostly inaccurate. It's just close to the very poor worker's situation of 19th century Europe, the conditions that its ideology wanted to avoid.

    Their weak spots are a lack of indigenous R&D capacity, lack of machine building capacity and lack of domestic non-food raw materials.
