Former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak' son Gamal and Egypt's former interior minister Habib el-Adly ordered the deadly bombings of the Red Sea resort of Sharm El Sheikh in 2005, Kuwaiti paper Al-Jarida reported Monday, citing classified documents.
The coordinated bombings of a bazaar and two hotels on 23 July 2005 killed 88 people, mostly Egyptians, and injured 200.
According to the top-secret interior ministry documents, Mubarak wanted to take revenge on businessman Hussein Salem for reducing his cut on on a 2.5 billion dollar contract to supply gas to Israel from 10 percent to 2.5 percent, Al-Jarida said.
So this was a so-called ally in the "GWOT" ... this is one step more for me towards calling it "PWOT" (phony war on terror), too.

Documents in question being dismissed as forgeries in most mainstram media outlets today. It's going to be hard to tell the legitiimate state security service documents from the fake, especially since truckloads of the real things are now in the hands of Egyptians with completely unknown agendas. At this point, the neccesity to avoid a rush to judgement just because our prejudices are being appealed to is imperative.
ReplyDeleteThe document in question was good enough for being cited by one of the top three German nationwide newspapers, so I feel free to cite it as well.
