This is a review of the top ten Main Battle Tanks of the world. The list includes such well-known tanks as the Leopard 2, but also ...
Shame on you if you found this through a link

This blog post was written and scheduled in December as an April's Fool joke.
All those Top 10 Milporn posts in forums and blogs are ridiculous, more a display of the author's bias than a presentation of content. It's strange, but many visitors (judging by comments) don't even expect to learn anything in such top ten lists. Such lists rather seem to trigger some subconscious, irrational desire - similar to trash TV about socially or hygienically challenged people.
The ease with which such topics attract hordes of visitors is an insult to anybody who has at least the ambition to deliver quality content once in a while.

Could you actually do an article like this but for Top 10 indigenous system designs ie The modern Italian MBT or SA's homegrown artillery platforms?
ReplyDeleteHonestly, if svens going to do a top 10 anything, it should be something unique. Maybe he can make a list of 'the best' pieces of small kit, like webbing gear, BDUs, hand radios, or entrenching tools.

Wow, thats pretty sad. But of course, we shouldn't be too surprised. You are always venturing into unexplored territory with lots of of critical thinking and no jingoism.
ReplyDeleteThat kindof approach is simply not appealing to the average schmuck. They lag behind in their knowledge of everything, while we are seemingly at the cutting edge.
"cutting edge" is not quite descriptive of a blog with so many historical topics. :)
